Image We offer a specific insurance cover for your horses principally for DEATH FOLLOWING INJURY AND/OR SICKNESS, extended to VANDALISM, ACCIDENTAL POISONING and KILLING FOR HUMANITARIAN REASONS in many European Countries whilst stationed or travelling.
This product is addressed to all categories: trot, flat, steeplechase, show jumping, eventing, dressage, and for all age groups (foals and yearlings, competition horses, stallions, mares, etc...).

The basic policy is extendable with an additional premium previously agreed and authorized by the Company for a more specific cover:

DEATH FOLLOWING SURGERY UNDER GENERAL ANAESTHETIC: The insurance guarantee is extended in the event of death of the horse insured following surgeries also under general anaesthetic, including those cases where the surgeries are not necessary to the safety of the horse.

COST OF CARE REIMBOURSEMENT: The insurance guarantee is extended to medical expenses incurred by the Policyholder for surgery under general anaesthetic and related veterinary fees, hospitalization, pharmaceutical therapies and rehabilitation. This guarantee is subject to the limits per event and per insurance year agreed from time to time with the underwriters and is usually granted in common risk with all policies for the same Policyholder.

REIMBURSEMENT FOR VETERINARY FEES FOLLOWING INJURY AND/OR ILLNESS WITHOUT SURGERY: The insurance guarantee is extended to medical expenses incurred by the Policyholder for admissions in veterinary clinics as a result of injury and / or illness related to veterinary fees, costs of hospitalization, pharmaceutical expenses, rehabilitative therapy and anything relating to the above situations limited to the period of hospitalization.
This cover is subject to the limits per event and per insurance year.

THEFT: the guarantee is extended in the event of:
a) theft of the insured horses;
b) death as a direct consequence of the theft;
c) wilful or intentional sterilization or infertility caused by or on behalf of those responsible for such illegal removal.
The applied rates and deductibles vary depending on compliance with all or some of the following conditions:
1. The centre housing the horse is under 24 hours surveillance
2. The stable is equipped with electronic security systems and remote surveillance
3. The horse is in a box locked at night
In the event the horse is found following the payment of damages, the horse insured will become the property of the Company itself

INFERTILITY OF STALLIONS: Covers any loss suffered by the Policyholder when the stallion insured becomes permanently impotent, sterile or unable to mount as a direct consequence of injury or illness occurring during the contract period. In the event of settlement of a claim by the Company, the stallion will become the property of the Company itself.

PREGNANT MARES: Cover is provided if:
1) The foal is not born because: was aborted, was stillborn, died during childbirth, died because of the death of the mare;
2) The foal is born alive but dies for injury or illness, as selected (the expiry date of the policy).
