The insurance claim for the death of Strong Yankee was settled in just three weeks

A sad story that ended with a record time settlement. Yesterday at the "Azienda Agricola Mariano di Noceto", Alessandro Baroncini Owner of the Lloyd’s Correspondent "Baroncini Broker srl" and Renato Bruni of "London International" who placed the insurance in London with Brit Lloyd’s Syndicate, have awarded the insurance settlement for the death of Strong Yankee. The horse was acquired as a stallion by a pool of Italian Owners formed by: Azienda Agricola Mariano di Noceto, Far Stalloni, Scuderia del Baronetto, Luigi Farina and Lucio Savio.

Strong Yankee (Muscle Yankee and So So Chic) 3, 1.50.3 and $ 1,434,351 peak subject of the 2002 generation was shot down the 18 December at the University Clinic in Guelph Ontario after suffering a major injury in the paddock.

It is the first time in Italy that such a large claim (the horse was insured for 1 million Euro) is liquidated in such a short time.

The Owners, although sad for the loss, decided to make public the settlement as this is an important news in the bloodstock insurance world and Baroncini stressed how this event represents a further security for those who invest at high levels in horses.

A pool of Italian entrepreneurs received a record settlement in just twenty days for the loss suffered. Three months ago Luigino Balzarini of the farm "Mariano", Messrs Farina and Savio, Far Stalloni and the Stables "Del Baronetto" had acquired for a staggering amount the stallion Strong Yankee – one of the fastest American horses which had become since a short time a reproductive stallion.

At three years old, Strong Yankee held the record of 1.50.3 and during his career had won almost one and half million dollars. The mother, So So Chic base broodmare in the States, is also the mother of Yankee Slide, a stallion now in Italy.

The Italian entrepreneurs had bought the horse and insured him for 1 million Euro with London International – Brit Lloyd’s Syndicate represented in Italy by Baroncini Broker from Fontane di Villorba (Treviso). In less than three month from the purchase, on the 18 of December Strong Yankee suffers a major injury whilst in a paddock in Canada. After being hospitalized at the University Clinic in Guelph Ontario, the horse is shot down because the damage is irreversible. The Owners submitted a claim for compensation to the insurance company for the damage suffered to recover the expenses incurred for the purchase of the stallion they owned from just three months.

Next Thursday after just 20 days from the death of Strong Yankee, the Italian entrepreneurs will receive the cheque for the amount insured. Alessandro Baroncini and Renato Bruni of London International who placed the insurance with Brit Lloyd’s Syndicate, will deliver the cheque at the farm “Mariano” of Luigino Balzarini.

This prompt compensation is a record for the amount insured of one million Euro and the short gap of time between the loss and the settlement. It is the first time in Italy that a damage of such amount is paid in such a short time.

Milionaire Compensation for the racehorse Strong Yankee, (photo) thanks to the insurance with the Lloyd’s mediated by "Baroncini Broker". Five Italian owners have received compensation of more than one million Euro for Strong Yankee, suppressed after an injury suffered in the paddock on a racecourse in Canada.

A record amount for Baroncini Broker specialized in bloodstock insurance. The brokerage house, founded by Alessandro Baroncini thirty years ago, is proving to be among the most efficient in Italy. Strong Yankee was one of the strongest and fastest horses in America, record holder and winner of $ 1,468,305. Baroncini Broker with headquarters in Fontane di Villorba (Treviso) has managed the insurance through Brit Lloyd's Syndicate and London International. The stallion suffered a serious injury in the paddock last December. He was hospitalized at the University Clinic in Guelph Ontario and shot down on December 18th due to the injuries suffered.

On Thursday January 11 at the farm Mariano the Owners, a group of entrepreneurs from Emilia and Lombardia regions: Balzarini, Farina, Savio, owners of Far Stallions and “Scuderia del Baronetto” will receive a cheque in compensation. The cheque will be handed over by Alessandro Baroncini, the correspondent of Lloyd's and Renato Bruni of London International.
